Tour Plan

Arrive Kathmandu
In the morning, fly to Dhangadhi and continue by road to Suklaphanta Wildlife Reserve, tucked away in Nepal’s remote far western Terai. This reserve shelters some of Asia’s richest and most expansive grasslands, along with Sal and riverine forests that are home to around 27 tigers. Bird enthusiasts will be thrilled by over 400 species recorded here, including the Bengal florican, Hodgson’s bushchat, and Finn’s weaver. There’s also a good chance of spotting tigers, leopards, Asian elephants, Indian rhinos, marsh mugger crocodiles, and Indian rock pythons. After dinner, enjoy a discussion and briefing about the following day’s activities. Stay two nights at the Suklaphanta Wildlife Tented Camp.
After an early breakfast, set out on a jungle drive through the Reserve to discover its waterholes, marshes, ponds, and open grasslands. In the afternoon, continue exploring — perhaps from one of the well-positioned watchtowers for a different perspective on the wildlife.
After morning activities and breakfast, travel onwards to Bardia National Park. A personalised programme will be tailored to your interests — options include an elephant safari, guided nature walks, a Land Rover drive, or a boat trip along the Karnali River in search of the elusive Gangetic dolphin. Stay for two nights at Karnali Lodge.
Enjoy another day filled with morning and afternoon wildlife excursions, delving deeper into Bardia’s diverse and picturesque landscapes. The park is home to an abundance of wildlife, including swamp and barking deer, monkeys, elephants, tigers, leopards, crocodiles, and over 300 bird species. A visit to the nearby Tharu villages is a highlight, offering a fascinating glimpse into the traditional culture, farming practices, and craftsmanship of the Tharu community.
After morning activities and breakfast, set off for Chitwan National Park. Established in 1973 and designated a World Heritage Site in 1984, the park lies in the subtropical Inner Terai lowlands of south-central Nepal. Spend two nights at Barahi Jungle Lodge.
Enjoy a diverse day of wildlife safaris and cultural encounters as you explore the rich biodiversity of this remarkable park. Guided by expert naturalists, look out for the elusive Royal Bengal tiger, the iconic one-horned rhinoceros, wild boar, bears, leopards, and bison. A village visit offers a captivating glimpse into the traditions and daily life of the local indigenous people.
After early morning activities and breakfast, drive to Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve. Upon arrival, a Naturalist will introduce you to the camp’s facilities and outline the safari experiences ahead. Established in 1976 to protect Nepal’s last remaining herd of wild Asiatic buffalo, Koshi Tappu is also renowned as one of Asia’s premier birdwatching destinations — over half of Nepal’s bird species can be found among its vast marshes, pools, and grasslands. On clear days, you might even catch a glimpse of majestic Mount Everest from parts of the Reserve. Spend two nights at Koshi Camp.
After breakfast, set out on a full-day bird-watching excursion, carrying a packed lunch to enjoy along the way. The walk covers diverse habitats such as wetlands, open grasslands, and pockets of riverine forest. The sparse Indian rosewood groves are especially good for spotting warblers, flycatchers, and birds of prey. Keep watch for Asiatic buffalo grazing nearby and, with luck, catch a glimpse of the shy Gangetic dolphin. Return for dinner, followed by a lively discussion reflecting on the day’s highlights.
Morning depart for Biratnagar for flight to Kathmandu. Evening Nepalese restaurant Farewell Dinner with Cultural programme.
